Kindergarten MathMATHThe Kindergarten Math class is dedicated to introducing students to the wonderful world of math. Through a series of learning based activities, students will begin to develop the knowledge of patterns, sorting, shapes and how to describe positional relationships. Furthermore, students will be instructed on counting, grouping, different ways to represent numbers, how to compare and contrast numbers and so much more as they work to understand the foundations of math.
Kindergarten ELALANGUAGE ARTSThe Kindergarten Language Arts class encourages students to learn new vocabulary, develop fluency and begin to expand their newfound reading comprehension skills. Through a series of reading, writing and learning based activities; students will explore the alphabet, principals/fundamentals of print, learn the different parts of a book and much more to help them on their way to understanding the basics of language arts.
5th Grade MathMATHThe 5th grade Math class is dedicated to building on previously taught lessons in order to further comprehension of the intricacies of math. Through a series of learning based activities, students will begin to understand the concepts of place value and estimation, how to perform operations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and learn about integers/variables. Also taught in the 5th grade math would be lessons on customary and metric units of measurements, perform conversions, apply geometric concepts to different situations to solve problems and so much more as they work to understand the inner workings of math.
5th Grade ELALANGUAGE ARTSThe 5th grade Language Arts class encourages students to expand and apply knowledge of grade level appropriate vocabulary, apply comprehension strategies to literary/expository texts and enhance reading, writing and thinking skills. Through a series of reading, writing and learning based activities students will work on developing fluency, the use of appropriate conventions of written language, further their knowledge on the elements of writing and much more to help them on their way to understanding language arts.
4th Grade MathMATHThe 4th grade Math class is dedicated to building on previously taught lessons in order to further comprehension of the intricacies of math. Through a series of learning based activities, students will begin to understand the addition/subtraction, multiplication/ division, fractions/decimals and understanding operations and how they relate to one another. Also taught in the 4th grade math would be lessons on understanding the concepts of money, using algebraic equations to represent mathematical situations, coordinating geometry and so much more as they work to understand the inner workings of math.
4th Grade ELALANGUAGE ARTSThe 4th grade Language Arts class encourages students to expand and apply knowledge of grade level appropriate vocabulary, apply comprehension strategies to literary/expository texts and enhance reading, writing and thinking skills. Through a series of reading, writing and learning based activities students will apply grammatical and mechanical conventions in written compositions, read/ respond to a variety of literature and much more to help them on their way to understanding language arts.
3rd Grade MathMATHThe 3rd grade Math class is dedicated to building on previously taught lessons in order to further comprehension of the intricacies of math. Through a series of learning based activities, students will begin to understand numeration, number theories/systems, writing numbers, reading and writing whole numbers, comparing and ordering whole numbers and number lines/inequalities. Furthermore, students will be instructed on addition/subtraction, multiplication/ division, understanding operations and how they relate to one another. Also taught in the 3rd grade math would be lessons on understanding the concepts of money, using algebraic equations to represent mathematical situations and so much more as they work to understand the inner workings of math.
3rd Grade ELALANGUAGE ARTSThe 3rd grade Language Arts class encourages students to explore synonyms, antonyms, analyzing and determining the correct meaning of a word and work to understand idioms. Through a series of reading, writing and learning based activities students will build on their knowledge of comprehension in order to enhance their ability to comprehend written text, learn about the nuances of plot, theme, sequential order and much more to help them on their way to understanding language arts.
2nd Grade MathMATHThe 2nd grade Math class is dedicated to building on previously taught lessons in order to further comprehension of the intricacies of math. Through a series of learning based activities, students will begin to understand numeration, number theories/systems, relationships among numbers, three-dimensional shapes, describing spatial relationships and the ways of representing fractions. Furthermore, students will be instructed on operations and their relationships, understanding patterns, relations, functions, how to analyze mathematical situations/structures. and so much more as they work to understand the inner workings of math.
2nd Grade ELALANGUAGE ARTSThe 2nd grade Language Arts class encourages students to explore high frequency words, demonstrate knowledge of vowels, the sounds of vowels, and how to apply their new knowledge to reading. Through a series of reading, writing and learning based activities; students will build on their knowledge of high frequency words and fluency with an emphasis on speed and accuracy. Students will also begin working on inflection, reviewing punctuation, context clues and much more to help them on their way to understanding language arts.
